T3 - Toronto Lindy Exchange 2004

All right folks, first things first - if I got your name wrong in the photos, don't have your name, etc, feel free to email me about it.

It seems like every time I fly to Canada, I forget the fact that I am flying international.  Ugly American behavior, I know, but it just doesn't occur to me ... so I don't arrive an hour early; my seat is given away, and I don't remember to pack my passport (luckily, I always keep my passport in one of my travel bags, so problem solved).  But I always seem to find a way of getting there and I am always very happy to be there.

Why?  I love Canadians.  I think it stems from their warm relaxed manner, that reminds me of the welcoming attitude of the south, but even more laid back.  Come into my house, make a mess of my place, and enjoy the Toronto Exchange.

The highlights, in no particular order:

bulletDinner with a very entertaining conversation with Josh, Annelise, Damon and Kelly
bulletAmy from Oberlin - Thanks for the wonderful dances - too bad I only met you at your last dance
bulletBronwyn slaving away in the kitchen and making some fabulous banana bread and lemon squares
bulletIain trying to wield my Japanese butcher knife
bulletMaking Jen my French scrambled eggs - butter a pan, take three whole eggs seasoned with salt and pepper and pour into the hot pan.  Constantly stir with a whisk until the eggs come together, then take it off the heat and thin it out with a few tablespoons of cream.  Plate and put small dabs of butter on top.
bulletPepper - What a handful, but such a sweet dog.
bulletSteve - Many thanks to opening up your place to us.
bulletJosh - Your dry humor is always appreciated :D
bulletBrooke - It's always wonderful to be around you.  Next time don't be so busy, though ;)
bulletMia and Solomon - I can't wait to hang out with you both in Seattle!
bulletCharlie, Heidi, Matt and Jesse - Seriously yummy veggie dogs ... I never would have imagined.
bulletBill and Sarah - Thank you for carting my butt around on Saturday ;) It was great to spend time with you both and I hope to make it upstate to dance one of these days ;)
bulletGil - Is there an exchange you don't go to?
bulletTina - Thanks for the song ... and yes, we are all closet westies.
bulletFrench with Mel and Sylwia ... I'm in love.
bulletDinner with Charles, Sarah and Iain.  I promise that there will be one more Singha the next time.
bulletMy new Modrobes metrosexual outfit
bulletThe best dance of the weekend?  Eric Clapton's Layla with ... Lelya.
bulletExploding pissing beef balls.  Seriously yummy stuff.  Only The God of Cookery would understand.
bulletAidan - Great to finally meet you and thanks for the dance!
bulletKelly - Your dancing was only outclassed by your wit ;)
bulletShawn - It was wonderful to spend time with you this weekend and I wish we could have had more, but at least you can be satisfied that your town put on a wonderful event!  Congratulations!
