St. Louis Lindy Blues Exchange 2002

All right folks, first things first - if I got your name wrong in the photos, don't have your name, etc, feel free to email me about it.

Okay, so it was some greasy, awesome blues dancing this past weekend at the St. Louis Lindy Blues Exchange (photos here).  Plus it was nice to be back in what I consider to be my hometown, St. Louis, although there was the usual "It's weird to be back in such a familiar place" vibe ... it was awesome to finally meet (for real) Devona and hang out with her and some other amazing follows this weekend ... my dance card was actually quite limited this past weekend, but I didn't mind ... this was some good dancing for the soul.

It was awesome, great.  I'm so proud to see St. Louis get itself on the map in the Lindy world ... and it's so good to do it with their own thing ... Cleveland is the home of Bal, San Fran has wiggly hop, LA has Hollywood, and now St. Louis will be known nationally for it's blues content.  It makes this former St. Louisan very proud.

Some of this highlights, in no particular order:

bulletDana - I monopolized her Thursday afterhours and had some amazing dances with her ... plus she's a massage therapist ... I was in heaven ...
bulletDancing with this cute gal Saturday night after hours, having one of the most mind-blowing dances I have ever had - my breath literally caught in my throat - and then finding out her name.  I live for moments like that.  Thanks Sheri.  Can't wait to see you again in Austin!
bulletSteak and Shake with lindy hoppers - Devona gives the most wonderful massages
bulletMary - I'm always excited to see her at an exchange ... it means that I know I'm going to have a great dance
bulletFollowing Devona in blues dancing - I've never had a sexier moment on the dance floor
bulletSeeing all of the St. Louis lindy hoppers again ... and watching them go to town!  It was sweet.
bulletThe weirdest, most fun dance I've ever had - Devona (again :) on Sunday night at after hours ... butt cupping, pocket cupping, belt leads, and hamming it up for our little audience ... I've never laughed so much when dancing
bulletHanging out at BB's and just watching the lindy love go around the room
bulletDarcy ... that's all I gotta say
