All right folks, first things first - if I got your name wrong in the

Okay, so, what did I learn from Herrang? Well, I learned that there is a
whole other world out there of amazing dancers that are dancing at a level
waaayyy over my head, which was so good to see. These people were taking to
the Euro-style classes (moves and patterns thrown at you very quickly) ... I
tended just to stick around and to do the American-style technique-based
classes until I was all classed out and just wanted to sleep and dance. I
was out of my league and I know that there is a lot of stuff I need to work
on. Yeah! :)
But I did have fun dancing with so many good dancers from all over the
place. The Russian women were amazing, with many a great, gorgeous dancers (I think every eligible male at Herrang was after one of
those Russian gals in some way, shape or form.)
The Swiss with Ursula, ooohhh, man, buttah. But still, some of my favorite
dances came from some of the American crew (Kellie and Seliima were
definitely at the top of that list). And I also discovered that I
like LOVE blues dancing. I have
never experienced that kind of connection before in a dance ... now I'm just
itching to get up to St.
Louis.
I'm also itching to get back to Herrang next year. I mean, I want to
experience the whole thing and do some more stuff like learn boogie woogie.
Those dancers have amazing stamina, control, frame, and form. I was doing a
lot of lindy hopping on the boogie woogie floor and all of those follows
were amazing. Never had a bad dance with a boogie woogie follow.
Although, I did have my most embarassing dance moment ever on the boogie
woogie floor. I was dancing with Barble and I did a move to bring her down
to sit on my knee. In the process, I heard the seat of my pants give way
(luckily I was wearing a long, untucked shirt). She heard it and asked if
anything had happened, but I just played it off and kept dancing with the
breeze ...
On the other hand, I did have a couple of wonderful moments with Frankie
Manning including doing the Shim Sham with him. And there were other
interesting tidbits:
