Cleveland Exchange 2002

All right folks, first things first - if I got your name wrong in the photos, don't have your name, etc, feel free to email me about it.

So, how was it? How about: Better than Herrang!

Yeah, blasphemy, I know, but it's true ... not only was all the dancing just top notch, but the venues were great with real character, the bands and DJs rocked, and the city, dare I say it, was nice. I actually like Cleveland now. It's not just a dirty industrial city that has a river that catches on fire - there's some cool dancing there, too :)

Zen lindy ... that perfect dance where you, your partner, and the music are in total harmony ... it's an ultimate state of bliss. And I had it this weekend - one Zen lindy along with many near-Zen lindy dances.  All thanks to the wonderful Cleveland Exchange run by BalboaBaby and the rest of the CX staff.

Some of this highlights, in no particular order:

bulletBalboaBaby's wonderful pad ... I've never been hosted in such a cool place before ... we're sorry about the fridge, though ... how does a fridge catch on fire anyway?
bulletHanging out with Moo-Cow, Johnine, Debbie, Casey, BalboaBaby and Dapper Dan in various combinations all weekend. The whole crew together was just too much fun. I was laughing my ass off all the time.
bulletI discovered why there's so much fuss over Canadians - Mel and her hips!
bulletHanging out pre-latenight with Easy, EmmySue4You, Hareesh, and other Yehoodites, just having fun ... in my pants!
bulletZen lindy with Erin from Ann Arbor ... wow. And she said she was nervous about dancing with me ... me? She was dancing like a rockstar all weekend! One 8-count into the dance and I knew it was going to be good.
bulletFinding out that other leads like my follow! Moo Cow, Loretto, Easy, Casey ... this is kinda fun! Although I don't know if I'm ready yet for All Guy Bal ...
bulletHanging out with Casey and Haley on Sunday night. I can't stress how much fun that conversation was ... thank you!
bulletDancing with Laura, who I met at Camp Hollywood, was such a blast. Whether balboa, or lindy, or whatever - it was all good.
bulletNice to see MischiefPixie, well, making more mischief :)
bulletLara is one of the hottest follows I have ever danced with. I wish I could dance with her every time I hear a westie song ...
bulletDancing with Haley, one of the most amazing follows I have ever danced with just because of the way she is just so playful and energetic in her dancing ... and to add to the pleasure, I remember when I first saw her at Great Southwest Lindy Fest this past year and I thought to myself, "This gal's a lindy goddess." Sure enough, a few dances with her then told me that she was. But now, at CX, she was all giddy after dancing with me! Little, ol' me!
