The French Laundry in Yountville, CA

In the Muslim world, Mecca is the center of religious life, and once in a Muslim's life, he or she must make the pilgrimage, the haj to Mecca.  Well, for a foodie, Mecca is the French Laundry and I've been on my haj.  This is a place where you can only call two months in advance to the date of the reservation, you have to start calling as soon as the reservation line opens in the morning, and after 35 minutes of busy signals, you might be able to get a reservation at some time of the day (just don't count on the time you want).  But trust me, it's worth it.
