Class I - Basic Concepts of Partnering, Pulse, and
Timing Variations
Establish structural basics to build or rebuild a
solid foundation from the ground up, as well as further improve your
understanding of Blues movement.
*We strongly suggest you take this class to progress
through the weekend.
Class II - Isolations and Leverage
Learn to integrate isolations to enhance your dance
movement, then add leverage for more dynamic connection and shape.
*Movements from this class will be used later in the
weekend in a more advanced context.
Class III - Turn Technique and Patterning
Pivoting is essential for clear lead and follow
interaction and maneuvering. We will work on overall balance and turn
technique, then put it into context with cool turn patterns.
Class IV - Strengthening Foundations and Mastering
Movement
We will start the second day of workshops reviewing
from the day before, delving deeper into and expanding on foundational
movements and concepts, furthering your mastery of the material.
Class V - Dips, Tricks, and Lunges
Spice up your dancing with accents that make your
follow smile, not cringe. Follow's focus will be on how to
hold yourself in a way that is easy and comfortable to maneuver, as well
as how to add the finishing touches for aesthetic.
Class VI - Progressive Movement and Pattern Action
Let's put it all together! This final class will
focus on more advanced patterning, transitions, and flow. We will tie
together the concepts from previous classes to create dynamic and
musical combinations.
